It works!!!
By S. Estima
I started reading the book around January 15 and just had my firs Lucid Dream last night - January 2. It took me about 2 weeks to succeed with my first dream. For other novices like me, I highly recommend the book. The first few chapters give a detailed step by step, how to proceed in order to learn how to have lucid dreams. For those who are interested, but have not yet started, I should state that this is not something you can simply read the book and start having lucid dreams. It takes a lot of work, and you have to consistently do the exercises and not get discouraged if you don't succeed right away. I was disappointed that I did not have a lucid dream my first week. Then about a week ago, I became aware that I was dreaming in one of my dreams, but I immediately woke up (a step in the right direction). Finally, last night I succeeded in staying in the dream. Very exciting! Without the book, I would have had no idea of what to do or how to proceed. I can't promise that it will work for everyone, but it did work for me.

Lucid dreams achieved with this book and the excercises!!
By Amanda
I purchased this book at a vunerable time in my life. I had never heard of Lucid dreaming but it sounded interesting when I accidently stumbled upon it so I thought'why not?"
Well half way through the book I had my first lucid dream. AMAZING!
I began writing down my dreams in the morning. Even a sentence or just a word I could remember from them at first. After a few days I started rememberng more details. I wrote them down for a week. Then I wrote a page of common links I kept seeing in my dreams (ie: rejection) It was always common. And a page of things I wanted to do if I ever became lucid. I re-read all of these things often and would say to myself outload many times a day " Am I dreaming?" If I was not, I would follow up with " are you sure?"
So I layed in bed one night and tried the W.I.L.D technique. I started seeing vortex swirls and colours with my eyes closed but still awake. I was then thrust into a very life like dream. I asked myself if I was dreaming. I replied to myself that 'no! Of course I wasn't" I asked myself Are you sure? And suddenly I looked around and said "Oh my god, I am dreaming". Everything suddenly changed!!! I felt like I was not in the dream but in real life. I was lucid!!
Immediatley as I looked around, the room I was 'standing in' fell away like it dismantled itself and the floor dropped away from under my feet. I was falling in pitch blackness and I could see a red light.
I was yelling in my dream that I was awake, and I was so excited and then I woke up. So dissapointed but I felt euphoric for days afterwards.
I have only had 1 other lucid dream. I realized I was dreaming, became lucid and woke up instantly from the excitement.
I became busy and stopped puttting in effort to write down my dreams and so I've not had another, but I'm getting back into it now and this book is definitley a 'how to' guide. I would recommend it to everyone.
Lucid dreaming is not scary, it is an overwelming sense of joy. Good luck to all.

Results Not Typical!
By SerenaBlackCat
I found it to be a plus that the book was free of dream interpretations and other spirituality-related things. Dreams and lucid dreaming are scientific phenomenon that too often get tangled up in woo.
The suggested exercises in the book are enjoyable. You are to record dreams, and recognize any unusual things that would make you aware that you are dreaming. These "dreamsigns" can be put into four different categories, and you can keep track of the most common type of dreamsigns. Along with testing your dream state (periodically examining situations to see whether you are dreaming), this is supposed to help you realize when you are dreaming.
They are enjoyable, but not especially effective. What typically happens is that in a dream I decide that I am not dreaming, and I integrate any dreamsigns into what I think is reality. I dreamed about pink kittens and thought "isn't it interesting that cats are the only animal that have naturally pink fur". I've been recording dreams since age 13 and have always been able to recall them in detail; supposedly those are good starting points.
The exercises for wake induced lucid dreaming are especially frustrating. You are supposed to meditate for awhile and eventually you will be able to get out of your body and walk on the ceiling. I've been doing this type of meditation for about 10 years, and have never experienced wake induced lucid dreaming.
The book reads like an infomercial in some parts, with lots of testimonials about how after doing what the author says, or buying his products, the person was able to have lucid dreams. There are also testimonials about how amazingly vivid and life-changing the dreams were.
The best advice the book gives is to wake up a few hours before your actual wake-up time, get out of bed for a few minutes, and then go back to sleep. If you have a partner that wakes up early, or a pet that demands breakfast at 4am, or have to take morning pills, these annoyances can help you!
THIS was what got me to finally have lucid dreams. They are not intense or life-changing and I don't really get to do whatever I want. They are almost always of flying, and I'm always in the position I'm sleeping in.
